You're a good mom!!!!! Regardless..

I really like a post by Nibbly Bits thru their Facebook which I can't help but re-post here:

To the mom who's breastfeeding: Way to go! It really is an amazing gift to give your baby, for any amount of time that you can manage! You're a good mom.

To the mom who's formula feeding: Isn't science amazing? To think there was a time when a baby with a mother who couldn't produce enough would suffer, but now? Better living through chemistry! You're a good mom.

To the cloth diapering mom: Fluffy bums are the cutest, and so friendly on the bank account. You're a good mom.

To the disposable diapering mom: Damn those things hold a lot, and it's excellent to not worry about leakage and laundry! You're a good mom.

To the mom who stays home: I can imagine it isn't easy doing what you do, but to spend those precious years with your babies must be amazing. You're a good mom.

To the mom who works: It's wonderful that you're sticking to your career, you're a positive role model for your children in so many ways, it's fantastic. You're a good mom.

To the mom who had to feed her kids from the drive thru all week because you're too worn out to cook or go grocery shopping: You're feeding your kids, and hey, I bet they aren't complaining! Sometimes sanity can indeed be found in a red box with a big yellow M on it. You're a good mom.

To the mom who gave her kids a homecooked breakfast lunch and dinner for the past week: Excellent! Good nutrition is important, and they're learning to enjoy healthy foods at an early age, a boon for the rest of their lives. You're a good mom.

To the mom with the kids who are sitting quietly and using their manners in the fancy restaurant: Kudos, it takes a lot to maintain order with children in a place where they can't run around. You're a good mom.

To the mom with the toddler having a meltdown in the cereal aisle: they always seem to pick the most embarrassing places to lose their minds don't they? We've all been through it. You're a good mom.

To the moms who judge other moms for ANY of the above? Glass houses, friend. Glass houses.

Does It Safe For Nursing Mom?

I am tandem nursing my 2 kids (3 years plus and 10 months). So far, I have not encountered any abnormality related to breast milk or breastfeeding. The milk supply is OK, both kids are OK.. I concluded it is OK for me.

How Good It Is?

After 8 days of drinking it (1 mix a sachet into 240ml ESP) and applied it twice on the face (I use 1/8 portion in a sachet and mix it with a pipe-water then applied on my face and neck; leave it for 10 minutes before rinse it), I noticed my skin, (with only moisturiser applied):
·         Fairer than before
·         Looks fresh
·         Has smooth texture
·         Less sagging

I only focus on my face, so I cannot tell any other goodness I have experienced.. hahaha

As a face masker, it is really good. I can really feel the difference (compared to any face masker I have ever used before). I can say, in very small quantity of masker, it works wonder.. Which when I first mixed the 1/8 portion with water, O my, so thin.. can it works as a masker? To my surprise, as it dry on my skin, it becomes glue-like. When comes into rinsing, it can easily rinse-off. I can feel the difference on my face right away (or is it only my feeling? Hahaha, but I like how it feels.. it has fishy smell though.. of course it is, because it is made of fish scales).

What About The Price?

The retail price for West Malaysia is RM298 and RM305 for Sabah & Sarawak. If any of you interested to know more or would like to get a special price, please PM me.

What Is Collagen?

Collagen is often mistakenly as a man-made product which widely known as a women and skin product. What is collagen actually? The article below explains its all about.

Collagen is a type of protein. Fibrous in nature, it connects and supports other bodily tissues, such as skin, bone, tendons, muscles, and cartilage as illustrated in figure 1 below. It also supports the internal organs and is even present in teeth. There are more than 25 types of collagens that naturally occur in the body.

Figure 1

Collagen is one of the most plentiful proteins present in the bodies of mammals, including humans. In fact, it makes up about 30 percent of the total amount of proteins in the body. Some people refer to collagen as the glue that holds the body together. Without it, the body would, quite literally, fall apart. Figure 2 below is summary of where collagen present in parts of our body.

Figure 2

Possessing great tensile strength, collagen functions in a manner that is very different from many other types of proteins. For example, it can be found both inside and outside of cells. Collagen fibers are important in contributing to the external structure of cells. However, they are present on the inside of some cells as well. Collagen works hand-in-hand with elastin in supporting the body’s tissues. Basically, it gives body tissues form and provides firmness and strength; elastin gives the same body tissues much need flexibility. This combination of collagen and elastin is very important in many parts of the body, including, but not limited to, the lungs, bones, and tendons as illustrated in figure 3 and figure 4 below. Even the blood vessels rely on both collagen and elastin.

Figure 3: Collagen Fibers in Skin

Figure 4: Collagen Fibers in Bones, Tendons, Ligaments

Often, collagen is discussed in relation to the skin. It works with keratin to provide the skin with strength, flexibility, and resilience. As people age, however, collagen degradation occurs, leading to wrinkles. Figure 5 below illustrates comparison between a skin with ample collagen and insufficient collagen.

Figure 5

As such, it is an important substance for those looking for ways to fight the visible effects of aging on the skin. Figure 6 below illustrates content of collagen degrade in our body as we grow. As we grow older, the production of collagen begins to slow down and cell structures start losing their strength. As a result, skin starts to become fragile, less elastic and wrinkles start to set in. In addition, hair starts losing it's color, joints lose their flexibility, and bone quality begins deteriorating.

Figure 6

Skincare professionals actually advise people on ways to stimulate the production of collagen in skin cells. In addition to being so important in the body, collagen also has many medical uses. It is used in some cosmetic surgery procedures and is sold as a supplement created for joint mobility. It is even used in treating and managing serious burns. For this purpose, it is used in creating man-made skin substitutes.

Collagen is so important within the body that it is often considered to be the "glue that holds the body together". When all bodily tissues are connected and supported by collagen, everything are functioning properly as it supposed to be, as illustrated in figure 7, a healthy body system. Since collagens are so important within the body, it stands to reason that collagen deficiencies can be problematic. In fact, there are some genetic diseases that are associated with collagen deficiencies. For example, osteogenesis imperfecta, commonly referred to as brittle bone disease, results from a significantly decreased level of collagen. It can also result from the presence of collagen that is of lower quality than normal.

Why Shaklee?

Do I Really Need Supplement?

Is it necessary? I am neither medical professional nor dietician/nutritionist, far from anything professional related to health. Personally, taking supplement for health maintenance never crossed my mind before. Why would I take it? Why wasting money when I can get the necessary vitamins from whole foods? Malaysia, especially Sabah blessed with abundant fresh foods. Why would I let more chemical goes into my body? For me, supplement is supplement which comes in a medicine-like bottle, a colorful pill, comes with a price, etc. Don't talk about taking it..

Supplement Is Necessary When..

When I say yes or no to something, I tend to justify. Whether I say it out or no, it's a different story. As a nursing mom for 2 plus manager and maid at my own home, it required me to be "energetic" and "alert" all the times (Even during night time, or else I can't feed my babies or change the diaper). Whole food never been a problem because I always keep stock and market is just few minutes away from home. My diet is quite good, I eat grains, vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy foods.. basically each from the food group. How much my body needs from each group, I don't know.. All I know, as long as I am full, feeling good, that's it. Hahaha.. Exercise? Yes, I do (By doing the household chores). Regardless, I was so tired before end of the day (at the same time, I want to breastfed my kids as long as they want). Then.. I start looking into this so called supplement. I think, at least I need multivitamin. Then the searching begins..

Natural or Synthetic Supplement? How to Tell?

Now that I am into supplement, there are ton of choices out there. Famous brand, less-famous brand, expensive, can-have, etc. As for natural vs synthetic, of course I choose natural. Is natural really natural? Hmmm.. Let's google. And I found this very informative article from these two links, that at least give me some clues about it (some of them really "technical" which I have no idea what's it all about):

I Choose Shaklee because..

I have admitted that I chose Shaklee over other brand for its famous marketing over the FaceBook, which emphasizes on breastfeeding. Of course I was looking for supplement that is safe for nursing mom because whatever goes into my body will transfer into my babies body too. Still in doubt whether I did choose the right brand, I continue do some readings from their website. I guess, their product philosophy really comforts me.

I also come across to this site, which compiles what health professionals say about Shaklee that affirmed me about my choice.

Phew!! I am feeling good.

Stay Calm, Mommy

Oo my God! I've just cleaned the house and before the whole floor dried, here comes the new mess. Never ending mess.. How to stop the mess? How to keep the house clean? After the kids go to bed? Hmmm.. I am not energetic enough to stay late just to sweep, mop, tidy up the house. No matter how much efforts I have put in on this house, the house will ended up messy. The household chores list will stay the same (or will be increased). Should I complain over these so called never ending jobs? I afraid complaining just make me looks older. I want to stay young.. (At least young at heart.. Looking younger will be a bonus.. Hahaha). How to stay young? Be grateful.. Looking thing at its positive side.. Stay calm.. Enjoy every moment.. And the list goes on (as we wish).. This quote is really an inspiration to me.

Hahaha.. The quote is so cute.. As cute as our little ones. Just excuse their mess as thing not gonna be the same 5 years from now (even tomorrow). Aiyoo.. Just start talking about the kids are growing up really make me sad. There will be no more "Mommy! Where are you?", "Mommy, my tummy is rumbling. I'm hungry", "Mommy, come back" and everything mommy.. I'm gonna miss these little lions

It is okay not to have all the household chore checklist checked by end of the day as long as I have a quality time with my super duper hyper kids. Hahahaa..

I don't know

There are lot of things I wanna share but I just couldn't decide which one to go first. There are plenty of reasons not to start and here I go.. No update for almost 5 days. The moral of the story is, if I kept delaying things, I won't be able to to start any because the hardest thing is to start something. Yes, to START something. I notice that once I have started.. I can't stop. The idea kept coming in that I couldn't find any suitable topic.

The bottom line is.. Start something NOW. The more we delay, the more longer we see the result. And the result is.. Only you and I know what result we wanna see in life. All the best, everyone!!

Tandem Nursing Journey (Part 2)

Both kids latching at the same time.. It was hard (especially during confinement period) at first, until I get used to it , which I think by the time the confinement period is over. Even so, it's never been easy when comes into napping and sleeping time. I think the boy was trying hard to find the comfortable position (I used to always nurse him to sleep). As time goes by, as he growing up, he made himself fit into whatever breastfeeding position I am. I guess he felt secure too, that he no longer come every time his sister latch. The best part when they latch together is, how close they are that the boy sometimes poke the sister's nose, the sister pinch the brother's forehead, etc. then stop for a while just to laugh then continue..

Yes, tandem nursing is not easy but it is doable and lovable. I don't know how long will they nurse but just thinking of they are growing up and some day stop nursing.. really made me sad. Apart from being in my womb through pregnancy, nursing is the next thing that made us so close to each other. And as I am writing this.. I have been 3 years plus in breastfeeding and still.. It is a blessing

Tandem Nursing Journey (Part 1)

When I first knew that I am pregnant with the second one, I have this mix feeling of excited, sad, afraid, etc. I was excited because.. It goes without saying that everybody are happy when they are pregnant. I was sad because my boy is going to share his mommy and daddy with "somebody". I was afraid because I cannot imagine how to be fair with 2 kids later.. I still breastfed my son (exclusively breastfed him.. On demand, zero bottle-fed) during and through pregnancy and was wondering how to breastfed 2 kids.. Shall I stop him so that I can focus breastfed to the second one? I heard about tandem nursing but can I manage to tandem nursing them? Will the second one get enough milk when they share? Will the first allow the second one to share? Ooo my God.. But I have this strong intention to continue breastfed my first one.. Even tho it was sometimes not so comfortable with the growing belly..

Even though there were many questions on my mind about tandem nursing, I still have this desire to do it. I search thru the web about it, and this quote really encourages me, "tandem nursing is doable". From that moment on, I set on my mind that I am going to tandem nurse my kids when the second one born. As my belly grows bigger and after I knew the gender, I started telling my boy that he will have a little sister soon and therefore he will have to share the "nenen". I told him mommy has 2 "nenen".. 1 for him and 1 for the sister. At 2 years plus, I don't think he really know what I mean but I take it as yes from him. (Hahaha.. Just to made me feel bette, I guess)

Then.. The little sister born.. When he came to the hospital to visit me and wanted "nenen", I gave it to him. I was wondering what will be his reaction when he sees me feeding his sister. I kept praying that it gonna be alright and yes!! When he came to the room (at the hospital) while I am feeding the baby, he just smile. After finished feeding the baby, he came to me and ask for his "nenen". I just wanna cry how understandable can he be (that was what I feel)..

At home.. This was the hardest part. Every time when I want to feed the baby, he also come and latch on the other side. Since it was the first time I have to feed 2 kids at 1 go, o my God..  How to position them so that both can latch?

Shaklee Slimming Set (Basic)

"I am slim but I have spare tyre on my tummy"

"I wish I am slimmer but is there any safe option out there? Will it cost me my salary of the month?"

"I am grateful for what I have now. I just wanna maintain my body."

"Is there any natural supplement out there that can help maintain my health condition? Maybe can make me slim too?"

Sounds similar? Have you ever crossed such thing in your mind? Well, slim, not-so-slim, however we view our physical and whatever we named it or categorize it into.. It's is all depend on our point of view. As long as we are in a good health, slim is a bonus. If our weight is ok based on our height, we satisfy with how our body looks like (it looks good on any clothes).. yeah, thank you Lord. This set that I am going to share is not for you. But it's okay to keep on reading..

This set consists of 3 products named, Vita Lea, Lecithin and Alfalfa Complex. Let's see how these 3 products can benefit us:

Vita-Lea: It's a multivitamin that specially formulated to provide you with 23 essential vitamins and minerals to promote overall health and vitality. When taken daily, it supports long term colon, heart, and eye health, promotes strong bones and a healthy immune system, and provides protection against free radical damages. (Source: http://www.leadinghealthylive.com) If you're think that you eat enough vegetables and fruits needed by your body everyday, then you can opt for not taking this. Hehehe

Lecithin: Lecithin is a nature's emulsifier (extracted from soybeans). In lay man terms, it is a supplement that can help in burning fat (eating this coupled with any suitable exercise will sure show quicker result). According to http://www.vitguide.com, the following are soy Lecithin benefits:
  1. Improves brain function. The main nutrient found in soy lecithin is phosphatidylcholine, also known as PC. PC is part of the membrane surrounding your cells and your body breaks it down into choline, which is widely known to be vital for the health of your brain. Choline is especially important for preventing memory loss and, in particular, preventing memory loss from old age.
  2. Promotes healthy weight loss. Lecithin hastens the breakdown of fats, aiding the whole process and as a result can boost metabolism. It has been used quite effectively as part of a healthy diet to promote weight loss. Best of all, since it is natural, lecithin allows your body to lose weight properly without relying on drugs that could cause harm in other areas of your health.
  3. Lowers cholesterol. The benefits of soy lecithin for lowering cholesterol are well known as it has been used for decades in treating patients with high cholesterol. It controls the flow of nutrients in and out of your cells and prevents the build up of fats in the walls of your heart, arteries and brain by breaking down the fatty deposits. For this reason, it not only benefits cholesterol levels, but also your cardiovascular health too.
  4. Prevents disease. There is also strong research that suggests the cell regulation benefits of lecithin may also have significant effects on brain and memory function, including possible improvements for Alzheimer’s, dementia, amnesia and more.
  5. Essential for liver health. Doctors and scientists have known for some time that lecithin and choline are both essential for liver function and health. By keeping liver fats dispersed in water, lecithin and choline can prevent those fats from accumulating. Also, because they control the flow of nutrients in and out, they can essentially flush out toxins from your liver before they cause harm.
Alfalfa Complex: It is a Shaklee Signature Formula originally developed by Dr. Shaklee in the 1950s. It is made of natural source of alfalfa (the king of the plants). One of the benefits of alfalfa is that it acts as a diuretic and a digestive as it is slightly laxative in nature. Alfalfa is also known to help in regulating the bowel movements and improving the digestion process which in turn helps in the better assimilation of the food consumed. (In lay man terms, it cleanses our colon.. so, the feeling after poo is sooo good because all those dirts that sticked on the colon's wall have been flushed out.. hehehe) Another one of the medicinal uses of alfalfa is that being a diuretic it is known to be very effective in the treatment of dropsy as well as the inflammation of the bladder. I Hate Technology (when)..

When I was growing up, I'm living in era (could be because I'm living in a so-called remote area) of where handphone, camera, and computer (these just to name few) are luxury thing. And it was not those stuff we have or available in the market now. It were a pure:
1. Handphone with antenna, where you can hardly put it in a pocket
2. Camera which operates on AA or AAA battery & a roll of film
3. Personal Computer (I don't even know what is the current OS that time..).

Looking back, even though the basic tool of communication was not there, people can still communicate, people can still craft memory, people can still "blogging" in its own way, etc. Fast or slow, hard or easy, that's a different story. We enjoy every bit of our life, we see each other when we want to talk.. we LIVE our life! There can be hardly the so called miscommunication, misunderstanding and whatever mis.. I guess everybody have this common understanding that "I responsible with whatever coming out from my mouth and live up to it" (integrity) and "this is this and that is that" (no assumption)..

With all the so called luxury stuff on hand now (at least handphone), I think community shall live their life better than before. Quality of life should be way better than before. But I think it is worst than before. Peoples live in the same house can hardly talk face to face. Most of communication done thru messaging application (you name it; WhatsApp, YM, FB, etc. I hate technology when comes into this). Look around us.. When we are having breakfast/lunch/dinner with families, we sit on the same table; when we are going out for tea times with friends, we sit on the same table; when we are visiting relatives, friends, we are sitting at the same place... but from time to time (some, most of the times), our fingers are lingering on the phone (of course our mind goes there too)..

Technology is CERTAIN and will be there FOREVER. But our life has its life span. Our time with one and another is uncertain. With so many commitment on hand, we can only be with A or B or C or whoever it is at limited time (regardless how much we want to). Technology is good and do so much "good" that we tend to delay things especially if it looks so simple and small to us (we tend to say "later" most of the times).

I will do the best to reduce this "later" from now on (at least 1/day, especially when I'm engaged to this luxury stuff.. hahaha) because time is priceless especially with the families. Even though I own this world and have financial freedom (wow.. Sounds good), I still can't buy time. Time flies so fast and will only leave regret behind if we didn't manage it wisely.

Anyway, thank you technology for make things easy but you're only my helper, not my master. I hate technology when I have no self-control that unconsciously  put other things on top priority over my time with the PEOPLES I love. Isn't it when you put LOVE as the first priority, the wealth and the health will follow?

I Once a Cloth Diaper Addict

When I was expecting my 1st baby, modern cloth diaper (CD) seems so new for me (that was 2009). Or maybe I'm lack of knowledge about it. The cheapest CD available at that time was around RM80. The first CD I've bought were 3 pcs of Blueberry One-Size Pocket Diaper. I started my stash with those CD and obsessed with it (because of the print) until I have at least 15 pcs by the time my dear son is born.

When he first born, I didn't even feel like putting the CD on him. I rather fold a flat and paired with a diaper cover on him until he was about 5 months plus. The reason I started the CD on him was because he is too big for the flat. Hahaha..

Once I've started this CD, I began fall in love with how easy it is to put on my baby, how nice it is on my baby's bum.. And many reason (or is it excuses because i have zero self-control.. hahaha) to keep adding up my stash. When enough is really enough, I have about 40 CD (consists of pocket, AIO, AI2 & Hybrid Diaper). This total is excluding the flats & the diaper covers.

Cheap Way of Cleaning the Tiles Floor

This stuff is cheap (RM3.90) & works wonder on my super dirty floor (wet kitchen floor).

Of course with the help of a brush. I mean any brush as a scrubber. No special brush. Hahaha.. With baking soda, I don't have to wear hand glove (which i hate to do when comes into cleaning) to do the cleaning. Anyway, my hand remains the way it is because baking soda contains no harsh chemical as most of cleaning stuff has. Just wet the floor, sprinkle the baking soda all over the floor then brush it. Once satisfied with the result, then rinse it away (of course using clean water). FINISH.

On the other topic, I'd love to share how much I love babywearing. With my baby on my back (I babywear my baby using a ring sling), I can clean my floor up. The good thing is, she sleep when I do the cleaning. I guess the swishing sound of the brush acts as a lullaby on her ear. Hahaha..

Oh My Picky Eater

My son (3yos) is super super picky eater. He can creatively make millions reason not to eat his real meal (rice especially), regardless how yummy the taste is, how good the smell is and how attractive it may looks. There were times he didn't eat any rice throughout the day.

When he was 2 years plus, I've started give him a chewable supplement (to improve his appetite). He really loves it and his appetite improved, but still ON and OFF. At least there were few spoonfuls of rice goes into his tummy by end of the day. How much I wish his appetite can be better than this.

Universal is listening. And yes!! I heard about this Shaklee Milkshake recently, read about the testimonies.. The Milkshake is not only improve the appetite, but it provides necessary nutrition for the growing up kids too.. which means, less sick (common cold, cough, etc.). Isn't it wow?

Keep Trying

I overseen this image while glancing through my photo's library. I don't remember where did I get it from but credit goes to wherever it originated from.

There were tons of thing in life I've tried. One of them is joined MLM business. The situation is exactly as phrased out in the first phrase in that image, "YOU TRY, YOU FAIL; YOU TRY, YOU FAIL".. Yes, I try this, I failed.. Then I try that, I also failed.. Since the second phrase said "THE REAL FAILURE IS WHEN YOU STOP TRYING" then, here I am.. Trying another one. Hello Failure, I will never never never give up (as sang out in Thomas & Friends song of Never Never Never Give up).

Anyway, this is only one example. In life, we MUST keep trying.. Be it to improve ourselves, our life, our financial.. Whatever it is, I can do it! It just a matter of times. :o)

Shaklee ESP-Soy Protein Isolate Powder

This is one out of six product in breastfeeding full set. It is tasty (I always mix 2 tablespoons of it with 250ml PLAIN water) and a superb drink to start the day. I drink it before I have my breakfast.

ESP (Energizing Soy Protein) really helps me to feel energetic the whole day. 👍👍👍👍👍 I have an active toddler and a baby to taking care, while doing daily house chores.

Is Life About Choice?

I heard about this saying for quite sometimes. And it is true indeed. It is a choice of YES and NO, and no in between. For which choice is the right choice, it is all up to us to choose at that time. And making a choice is the hardest thing to do, especially if it involves our future and other people's life.

Even so, God is great and He will always guide us in making the right choice at the right time. Just believe and have 100% faith in Him that right thing is done at the right time JUST because His timing is always right. He will surely comforts whoever needs it. He will surely grants a peace of mind to whoever needs it. And He will surely put everything back in its place, the right place, according to His will.

I surrender, let's Your will be done.

Shaklee Breastfeeding Set

I've consumed this set for 2 days now and I notice the difference in quality of my breastmilk. I guess it really works on me. The quantity and quality of my breastmilk really improved. It seems like my breast can easily full (after emptied for each feeding), and the breastmilk is thicker too. Tandem nursing to my big baby and baby.. This choice of having breastfeeding supplement is a right choice and worth the $$$$$ I've invested on.

Mother is The Greatest Job Ever

Working as a professional requires me to be smart, efficient, have sense of urgency and tons of good value to be a good one. Not to mention how many datelines I have to catch every now and then and regardless how tough it is or how rough the road to the finish line, I still managed to deliver them. Having all these good values made me sounds like I am the most important person that any company is dying to have. As an individual, I felt like I am doing a great job ever. That's before I found and have a greater or the greatest profession among the greatest, which is a MOTHER.
